Good fries, but not stand-in-a-court-case-long-line good.
The queue that made Amsterdam world news: neighbours sued the city over it, the municipality tried to cap the line at ten people, a judge called the rule unworkable, and the residents case rumbles on. All of that for fries with grated parmesan and truffle mayo at seven euros. They are decent fries. They are not seven-euros-and-an-hour-of-your-life fries, and there are now five branches, which tells you what the queue actually is: content. The window where they cut the potatoes is the show, and the show is free from the outside.
