A queue since 1937, a cone under two euros: the anti-hype hype spot.
Van der Linde has sold exactly one thing since 1937: soft ice that is closer to frozen whipped cream than to ice cream, in a plain cone, for less than the price of a coffee. TikTok rediscovered the queue, but the queue was always there; ask your Amsterdam grandmother. This is the inverse of every other entry on this list: no toppings, no branding, no card reader, and a product so cheap that the wait is the only cost. On a warm Saturday the line runs far down the Nieuwendijk and moves briskly. Bring cash, order the medium, eat it walking.
